Do it with
peace of mind...
There are tonnes of options when it comes to travel insurance and to be quite honest you really do get what you pay for. The chances of needing to use it are slim, but we owe it to our loved ones to have solid cover for that big trip. If there is 1 thing we have learnt over the years and that’s not to go for the cheapest option.
We have teamed up with the legends at World Nomads to ensure you get the best cover while you are on the road. You can buy, extend and claim all online which makes them a very easy company for those of you who hate being put on hold!
IMPORTANT: When travelling with Feel Free Travel it is a requirement that you are adequately covered for the duration of the trip. You will be required to proof this cover before the start of the trip so be sure to have a copy printed out or in your emails ready to show your Group Leader.
5 TIPS ON BUYING TRAVEL INSURANCE
1. GET IT ASAP!
More often than not people will wait until just before their trip to get insurance. What happens if you can’t make it because of health reasons? Travel insurance can only protect you if you have a policy in place at the time of the incident/situation. We recommend getting your insurance sooner rather than later to be sure you are protected.
2. DON’T GO FOR THE CHEAPEST
It’s very easy to go for the cheapest because it gives you more money in your back pocket for your adventures. Just like most things in life...pay cheap, you pay twice! Get a policy with a solid company to avoid any unwelcome surprises later.
3. BE ABLE TO EXTEND YOUR TRIP
Don’t let your adventure be headlocked by your travel insurance provider. Opt for a company that allows you the flexibility to extend your cover or buy extra cover when you are on the road. This is often not covered and is hidden in the small print. World Nomads are great at offering this service!
4. TRIPLE CHECK YOUR INFO
It’s very easy to rush through the policy application and make mistakes. Take your time and be sure to answer the questions truthfully. Remember...this is a legal document!
5. DECLARE UNDERLYING CONDITIONS
If you have an underlying health condition make sure you tell your insurance provider. This is often overlooked and can cause you quite the upset when you try and claim against your insurance. More often than not it’s not a huge premium increase and 100% worth doing.
